Samburu Integrated Development Program

Oreu, Fred, and Bati are mobilizing community members into Community Based Organizations through a program called Samburu Integrated Development Program (SIDEP). This program essentially trains CBOs on how to operate like NGOs.  Focused primarily on capacity building, SIDEP was designed by Jim Mayfield, CHOICE Humanitarian Founder and Life-long Humanitarian. Through this program elected village leaders are trained in proposal writing, networking, fundraising, and development policy. The objective is to equip village representatives with the tools to come up with solutions on their own with without, or at best, minimal external help.
