Highlights from Kravanh, Cambodia
The education projects in Kravanh, Cambodia have been running since 2008 with great support from Trivani Foundation and critical support from the local community – including the in-country director for Trivani Foundation, teachers, parents and students.
Here is a montage of highlights from the educational programming which speaks to the success of the village of Kravanh.
The Krvanh Bright Future Center
The Kravanh Bright Future Center (KBFC) is a school program which gives students the opportunity to get additional support for their studies. They are guided as they strive to reach their academic and career goals. To date, there are 300 students, 115 of whom are girls. There are 30 classes offered a day which are managed by 10 full-time staff and 6 part-time staff.
Student Outreach Program
The local outreach program serves 670 students, 323 of whom are girls. Currently they are taking classes in 12 schools and communities and are taught by 13 teachers. The dedication of these teachers is what gives these students an additional boost for their learning.

Here is Akullo , her parents are peasants and it is through the sales of the harvest from crops that her school fees and requirements are meet. Akullo likes the stay alive program and has become part of life.
I t is through stay alive programme that her life was saved .
HERE IS THE TESTIMONY FROM HER FATHER.
I am called EMOKU Richard , the Father to Akullo Susan.
Akullo is a girl , who had no respect of the elders, dodged classes , used to attend night clubs discos , practiced early sex and sometimes seen smoking cigars. With all this striking behaviors , we thought of marrying her off as the only solution .On June 20 , the Head teacher approached me about Akullo’s nasty behavior and advice me on her joining the stay alive Club at school. He told me more about stay alive programme and as the only reliever. I accepted and Akullo was forced to learn stay alive programme at school.
Now as we speak , Akullo has got devoted to the stay alive classes and has changed her life in the following ways.
She is among the first children in class and her performance has tremendously improved. She helps as at home with the kitchen , garden and compound cleaning
She has got good friends both in the village and at school.
At home she dosen’t want to hear any thing concerning early marriage , sex , discos and cigars. She has got devoted to her studies and she is our stay alive teacher at home , she teaches as the dangers of getting HIV/ AIDS ,importance of having a happy family.
